Mao Zedong has referred to the US as “paper tiger”. He has called out the US for its fearful impression on the outside and lack of it on the inside.

European Union (EU) froze investment deals with China with an overwhelming majority of 599votes for the motion on 20th May 2021. This resulted in a setback for China’s business, the economy as well as international relations.

There are multiple instances that led to this fall out including China’s sanction against EU’s political and diplomatic officials. The EU parliament collectively called out for the implementation of the UN’s Human Rights Charter and an immediate end to China’s serious human rights violations and restricted religious freedom.

Chairman of the China Relations Group, Beatty Kefir at a press conference stressed that the EU’s stance on human rights and the economy doesn’t need to be parallel with China’s imperialistic actions. She further mentioned that China is a paper tiger and Europeans don’t have to be the white rabbit.
